Good ..

Those arrows fly up just a nice too fast though.
Start at half speed. Sure that's ridiculously slow but you build up to normal and then high speed. Save the double-arrow key combos for difficult levels.

THANK YOU for not requiring the arrow to be dead-set-on-the-pixel like most reaction games are to get a combo.

Also, LOSE the negative voice kibitzer. I already have my G/F telling me when I was screwing up playing this game and don't need another voice to add to it. :)

Exceptional ..

Might wanna change the music to something from FLASHKIT though cause the makers of Parasite Eve, Squaresoft are gonna eat ya for lunch. :)

I Got the game to work.
C777, you are quite right. It's screwed. :/
The password is REQUIRED for the FIRST field.

The password for my character is:

EIf{niaVDyWAb

I HIGHLY recommend you highlight over the password, use COPY/PASTE as appropriate.

Leave the 2nd field with the words:

Unknown Passage

Click on the wax seal. The game comes up then.
Jamus, not everyone is going to be this computer savvy. Don't require a password just to start the game and not EVERYONE is going to want to answer the 12 Zodiac questions just to get a character to start the game. Have some defaults.
Single step ONE click for default character and instant start game at least.

[Spacebar] to attack. Use the arrow keys to control the player. Stay out of the cone visions of enemies very much like Metal Gear Solid for the PSX or the new Flash game Classroom.

I'm not very happy that the view is TOTAL top-view. It's hard to see the player sometimes. I think even MGS had a bit of tilt to the camera so you could see the player's legs.

Dead monsters should stay dead. Reviving them is just more work for the player to kill them again. If you are trying to build up the player's experience points, consider random encounters.

While I'm not knocking it cause you can take advantage of the lack of it. The game could be adjusted so if one guard is in the "red" (alert mode) if he beams a red alert to a different guard (not where their beam (both beams) but the sprite itself), then they too become "red" and alert.

Other than that, this is an EXCEPTIONALLY well done game with outstanding vector graphics, high quality music and sound effects and should be listed in the ADVENTURE category as it is not.

Not good ..

Septimus, please don't feel the "required" need to build bloody (AKA has a lot of violence) SWFs. I know it seems like that earns points in some SWF circles, but it's just a waste of your good talent and ability ..

Focus more on things like your excellent Zero Race which is popular not because it's violent or bloody (because it isn't), but because it's very well written, challenging, and fun to play. :)

David

Hey ..

Hey Septimus, don't listen to those who BLAM this excellent game. They will say ANYTHING just to try and get your goat, and often for attention, and not just with you but anyone else who submits SWFs, ok ? :)

Great job on this game.

Hey, no fair !

You didn't include the laser-lenses that do cool effects like a naked girl, star, or heart.
:)

Oh Teacher ...

I don't know if I was playing a game or taking Biology 101 all over again. :)

You're a schoolteacher right ?

Neat game !

Really did enjoy it !

Reminds me of some work I did in QBasic years ago. I had these spinning specks around the center and the gravity kept increasing until it pulled all of them in. Very similar with a moving focus. :)

Excellent !

BIG POINTS for usage of Angry Kid. I love that series and you did a GREAT job on this !

Let's see some more Angry Kid Games !

Hey !

I played this game long before I found out about NG. AWESOME game. Pplz, it IS possible to win. It's hard as hell but can be done. :)

David

Dude ..

You've got some serious issues when a BOSS to a shooter is a photocopy of your own ass with worms flying out the backside.

They make pills for this sort of thing.

I am Chaotic Neutral. I don't necessarily do what is right or wrong, but I am often there to help you. :)
